PLA

General purpose. Clean surface, wide colour range. Prototypes, display pieces, indoor fixtures — anything that doesn't face heat or UV.

PETG

Tougher and slightly flexible. Handles moisture and repeated handling well. Functional parts, enclosures, anything that gets used rather than displayed.

ABS

Heat-resistant and impact-resistant. For parts that live in hot environments — near machinery, in vehicles, in direct sunlight.

ASA

UV-stable and weather-resistant. The outdoor material of choice — signage, exterior mounts, anything exposed to the South African sun.

TPU

Flexible. Phone cases, gaskets, grips, feet, seals — anything that needs to bend and recover its shape.

Signage Filament

Formulated for clean, smooth surfaces on dimensional letters and display elements. Available in multiple colours.

  • Send your file: email your STL or 3MF file to 3dservices@tonerandink.co.za with a brief description of the part's application and any material preferences.
  • We review and quote: we check the file for printability, confirm the appropriate material, and send you a quote with a realistic turnaround time. Most quotes are returned within one business day.
  • We print: using our ELEGOO Neptune range including the Neptune 4 Max for large or high-speed print jobs.
  • Collect or delivery: collect from Somerset West or we arrange delivery. Same-day Cape Town delivery available for urgent in-stock items where timing allows.

What size parts can you print?
Our ELEGOO Neptune 4 Max has a build volume of 500×500×500mm, which covers the large majority of practical FDM applications. For genuinely large-format printing requirements, contact us to discuss — the OrangeStorm Giga in our range handles industrial-scale build volumes.
How accurate are FDM prints for functional parts?
A well-tuned FDM printer at standard settings produces parts accurate to within 0.2–0.3mm for most dimensions. For mechanical fits, we recommend designing with appropriate tolerances rather than expecting press fits at nominal dimensions — our team can advise on this if it's relevant to your part.
Can you print in a specific colour to match my branding?
We stock multiple colours in PLA, PETG, and ASA. Contact us with your requirements and we'll confirm what's currently available. For exact colour-critical applications, painted post-processing is often more reliable than filament colour matching.
What if I only need one or two parts?
There's no minimum order quantity on print-on-demand. We print single parts regularly — one replacement bracket, one prototype, one custom enclosure. The economics of FDM printing scale down to single items in a way that injection moulding or CNC machining simply don't.
