How laser printers work and what they're built for

A laser printer doesn't use ink at all. It uses a powdered substance called toner, which is fused to the paper using heat. Inkjet printers spray tiny droplets of liquid ink onto the page, which gives them the ability to produce smooth colour gradients, detailed photographs, and a broader range of paper types.
